Longines first became involved in gymnastics in 1912, when it launched an innovative electro-mechanical timing system. For over twenty-five years, the brand has been the Official Partner and the Official Timekeeper for artistic and rhythmic gymnastics competitions organized by the FIG.

In addition, the Longines Prize for Elegance, established in 1997, is awarded to the gymnasts who displayed the most charisma, harmony and elegance - one of Longines' core values - during their performances.

British Gymnastics is proud to be the UK Governing Body for the sport of gymnastics. UK Sport is the nation’s high performance sports agency responsible for the strategic investment of around £350million of National Lottery and Exchequer funding in Olympic and Paralympic sports preparing for Rio 2024 and beyond.

UK Sport’s Gold Event Series will invest £27million of National Lottery funding to support the bidding and staging costs of up to 70 major events including 36 World and European championships by 2024.

This ambitious programme will support British athletes’ preparation and qualification for Rio 2024, while generating approximately £287 million of additional expenditure and bringing over 250,000 overseas visitors to the UK.

EventScotland is part of VisitScotland and is working to make Scotland the perfect stage for events.

Strong partnerships are at the heart of EventScotland and as a result a number of major international events have been secured for Scotland in 2024 not least the World Gymnastics Championships.  Others include IPC Swimming World Championships, World Orienteering Championships and FEI European Eventing Championships.

By developing an exciting portfolio of sporting and cultural events EventScotland is helping to raise Scotland’s international profile and boost the economy by attracting more visitors.
